Dr. Charles A. Pollock, of Richmond, Va., died on November 16, 2004. Dr. Pollock is survived by his two sisters, six children, and four grandchildren, and many beloved friends, colleagues, and patients. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles A. Pollock III. Charles had an active and rich life. He was a Merchant Marine, an officer, "Frogman," and "Beach Jumper" in the Navy, and retired as a colonel from the National Guard. He received his medical degree from UVA and completed his internal medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic. Charles married and settled in Richmond, where he ran his private medical practice for 35 years. He served as a consultant, chairman, medical examiner, and MCV clinical instructor. He also volunteered his services and made house calls to those who were home bound. Charles loved the outdoors and was a triathlete well into his 60s. He was loved and admired by many. We will miss him. God bless you, dad. Services were private. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Alzheimer's Society.
