Beach Jumpers 1942-72Beach Jumperswere U.S. Navy tactical cover and deception units which were organized under Admiral H.K. Hewitt, then Commander of Amphibious Forces and all U.S. Naval Forces in Northwest African waters and the Western Mediterranean. The concept for Beach Jumpers came about as a result of then Lieutenant Douglas Fairbanks Jr., the Hollywood actor turned naval officer during World War II and having been detached from "Blue Water" duty on the high seas and assigned to duty with British Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten and the Combined Operations Commandos in England.Fairbanks TributeVideo Documentaries:1- DARK SEAS2- WWII BJs3- DECEPTION

For those who may be interested, rec'd the following email on 7/12/25 at the Admin Office:Hello, I wanted to introduce myself and let your organization know that I own the P-520. She is the last complete 85’ Air Sea Rescue vessel. I know these and 63’ ASR participated in the Beach Jumpers missions. Currently P-520 is in Chesapeake VA at Atlantic Yacht Basin being repaired. I thought the Beach Jumpers Association would have an interest. My plans are to make repairs and operate the P-520 in the Potomac, Chesapeake & Delaware River as a museum vessel. My 501c3 is Special Warfare & Rescue Vessel Foundation, INC. Thank you,Ted Yadlowsky410-207-4744[www.p520.org] (http://www.p520.org) / [www.swrvf.org] (http://www.swrvf.org)
