Larry Eugene Woods, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Violet Imogene
(Weese) Woods, was born Sept. 18, 1940 at the home of his parents
near Blockton, Iowa. Larry entered eternal rest on August 15, 2015 at
Greater Regional Medical Center, Creston, Iowa at the age of seventy-
four years, ten months, and twenty-eight days.
Larry was educated in the Lenox School System and graduated from
Lenox High School with the class of 1968. Following graduation, Larry
worked for the Lenox Utilities and the LenCorp Factory before enlisting in

and returned to Lenox. Larry was united in marriage to Shirley Ann
Vicker in Lenox on July 17, 1965. Two children were born to bless this
union: Janet and Jason. The couple recently celebrated their 50th
  wedding anniversary.
Upon returning to Lenox, Larry worked for Hoover Ball and Bearing.
Later, the name changed to Tote Systems, where he worked until he and
Shirley moved to Creston in 1979. He worked for the DNR for one
summer before going to work for the Creston School System as a
custodian, retiring in 2001. In retirement, Larry worked several years at
The Pier in Creston. Larry and Shirley returned to live in Lenox in 2005.
