Robert Norman Price, age 80, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his home in Frisco, Texas.  He was born in the Sycamore-Mount Hermon Community, Delaware County, Oklahoma on September 17, 1939 to William Woodrow Price and Ada Duncan Price.  His family moved to Hollywood neighborhood in Memphis, Tennessee in September, 1941.  He attended Hollywood Elementary and Junior High. He graduated from Treadwell High School, class of 1957.  During that time he played on the Tennessee State tournament All Star Baseball team and was a Memphis Honorable Mention All State Football player. He received an athletic scholarship to Tulane University in New Orleans. He played football and baseball from 1957 to 1961.  He graduated from Tulane with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1961.  He then entered the Naval Officer Candidate School at Newport, Rhode Island.  He was commissioned as an Ensign in 1962.  He served aboard the USS Chewaucan AOG-50 from April 1962 to July 1963, homeported at Charleston, South Carolina. He traveled the world and eventually retired as a Commander in the US Navy Reserve in December of 1984 with 23 years combined active and reserved service. He moved to Houston, Texas with Georgia Pacific Corporation in 1965 and 1966 and Rowe and Mayfield Construction Company from 1966 to 1968.  He then attended Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas from 1968 to 1971.  He began his legal career as a Labor Employment and Litigation lawyer with General Motors Corporation Legal Department in Detroit, Michigan from 1971 to 1973. He continued his career with Cities Service Oil Company and Cities Service Company Legal Departments, Columbia Chemicals, and Occidental Petroleum all in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He retired in September, 1999 at age 60. He married Kathy Anderson on May 3, 2003 in Frisco, Texas.  He enjoyed farming with his mom and dad and raising Hereford Cattle on his farm in the Sycamore area. He died peacefully at his home in Frisco, Texas. He will be laid to rest in his Navy Uniform in Mount Hermon Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 2:00pm with Pastor James Bryant Officiating.  He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Price; his step children, Kimberley and Robert Hudson, Kari and Mark Loth, and Scott and Melinda Anderson and his step grandchildren, Kelsey, Katie, Kallie, Christian, Chrissa, Courtney, Meghan, Annie and Ian.  He is also survived by his Duncan relatives, Aunt Norma Durham, cousins: Carolyn Durham Lepard and family, Brad and Rhonda Duncan and family, Doug and Kelly Duncan and family, and Jeff and Susan Duncan and family.  Also surviving is his beloved cat, BJ. His burial will be at Mount Hermon Cemetery, Jay, OK with Military Honors. Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 722 N. 46th St., Grove, OK 74344 with Shaunda J. Lawson, 3rd Generation Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
