Michael Alan Prince Sr., 75, of
Kerrville, Texas passed away on April 26, 2015 in San
Antonio, Texas. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Marge
Sanders on June 19, 1939 and adopted in love by Darrel
and Rebecca Prince. He is preceded in death by his first
wife, and mother of his two children, Carol McClure
Prince. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Hagemeier
Prince of Kerrville, Texas.
Michael joined the military at the age of
17 where he trained with the US Navy SEALs as a member
of the first Beach Jumper’s Unit, he was a Vietnam War
Veteran, a member of the Leap Frog team, and
participated in the Navy exhibition skydiving team. He
retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service as a
Senior Chief Petty Officer. He completed his Bachelor’s
Degree in Psychology at Mid-America Nazarene, attended
the Nazarene Bible College, and The Nazarene Theological
Seminary. He was an ordained minister, serving the
Church of the Nazarene for over 25 years, pastoring
churches in Texas, California, Colorado, Alaska, and
Virginia. He also taught Middle School Science in
Kermit, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his late wife,
Carol McClure Prince; his father, Darrel Prince; mother
and step-father, Ken and Rebecca Whistler; and brother,
Jessie Clay.
Michael is survived by his loving wife,
Darlene Prince; daughter, Shirley Prince of San Angelo;
son, Michael Alan Prince Jr. of Lakeland, Florida;
brother, John and wife Charlene Clay of Bunn, North
Carolina; brother, Davis Clay of Seabrook, Texas;
mother, Marge Plantier of Seabrook, Texas; step-mother,
Ila Prince of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughter, Kayla, and
husband Jay Moore; great grandsons, Jaxon and Kasen
Moore; grandsons, Michael Alan Prince III and Noah
Prince of Lakeland, Florida; granddaughters, Karlee, and
Kourtney Brown of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by
special family, Susan and Timothy Blake of Las Vegas
Nevada, and numerous nieces, nephews, and special
friends that he loved like family.
Services will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels in
Kerrville, Texas on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 2:00 pm with
Conley Henderson and Malcom Bolger officiating. Burial
will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in
San Antonio Texas on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10:15 am
with full military honors. |
