The Executive Board has
approved this project and we will be entering into contract with
Clifton & Clifton Monuments Inc. of
Elizabeth City, NC to completely restore the lettering by
re-painting both sides in white litho as well as all logos in
white, navy blue, red, gold and brown and black.
This project will start in the spring of 2020 at a cost slightly
in excess of $1,200.00.
*I am currently working with
the National Park Service, through Ranger Corey Cutright, in an
effort to obtain the necessary permits, and permissions to introduce
some improvement to the immediate area around the memorial. (ie
landscape tie border, plantings, and a possible walkway from the
roadway berm. More to follow on the progress of this endeavor.
